Cool Running

September 17, 2008

The high heat/high humidity hell that is summer in central Texas seems to have finally broken (for now), much to everyone’s enjoyment.

In the past few days, we’ve gone from lows in the upper 70s to lows in the upper 50s.

I’ve been loving the change. And so, apparently, has the Mini.

I haven’t had the chance to drive it in cooler temperatures yet. When I took delivery in late May, summer had already set in. Since then, I’ve been averaging around 22-23 miles per gallon.

Now that the temps have dropped and I’ve been able to turn the AC off in favor of windows down, I’ve seen a sudden jump to 30+ MPG. No complaints here.
