I absolutely love this one…

To me, it is as insightful as it is humorous. “We” is at the heart of Obama’s campaign. It’s not about him, not the way Hillary’s campaign is about her. It is about us.

I can’t help but be reminded of the fishing parable. You know – “give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day…teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime”. It’s a powerful message of self-reliance and self-responsibility, two things which have been sorely missing from the political stage for some time. Think about it. Think about No Child Left Behind, or Katrina, or the recent stimulus package. The government’s modus operandi these past eight years has been “we’ll do it for you”. Only they can’t. All they’re doing is propping up a deteriorating system with federal dollars.

I realize Obama leans pretty far left in terms of policy. But it’s not like the Republicans are exactly the party of small and efficient government anymore. And it’s Obama’s approach that draws me, and I think draws a lot of others. It’s not “I” can. It’s not “the government” can. It’s “we” can.

We can has cheezburger.
