Coming to America

July 23, 2006

After many frustrating days waiting for the Mini to catch a ship bound for America, I finally contacted my Motoring Advisor (Mini slang for salesman) to see if he had any better info.

As a matter of fact, he did.  Lo and behold, the Mini was already aboard a ship, and is scheduled to reach Charleston on July 27th.

I should hopefully have an estimated delivery date sometime this week.  Or at least a few delivery dates, depending on how long the car spends in the VDC before getting on a truck bound for San Antonio.

The day is getting closer. Are you going to cry when you finally get it?

Matt, I really enjoyed reading your day by day comentary on the trip. It helped keep mom & I tuned in to what you and Jamie were experiencing. Nothing like being back home in your own bed though. Wanted to call tonight but figured you’re still regrouping. Will give you a call tomorrow. Good
    news about the mini.

Incidentally Matt, now you’re home, now is the right time for me to reveal that I am actually your real father.

I want to see that British flag on your Mini btw.
