MacBook Pro

January 10, 2006

Steve Jobs’ keynote speeches at Apple’s Macworld event are always interesting.  Speculation runs rampant in the weeks prior, and the products he ends up introducing are almost always much, much cooler than all but the headiest of rumors.  Last year, it was the iPod Shuffle and Mac Mini.

This year, it’s not one Intel-powered Mac, but two, an iMac and a Powerbook, which receives the new name of MacBook Pro.

All the goodness of a Powerbook, but, thanks to Intel’s Core Duo dual-core processor, the thing is four times faster than the outgoing model.

To which all I can say is, "I want one, I want one, I want one, I want one."
