Say What?

November 7, 2005

From a recent article about the rioting around Paris:

Police officers, exhausted and dispirited after 11 nights of street
battles, say their mainly young African and Arab adversaries have
access to sophisticated weapons including grenades and could soon begin
using them.
A dozen officers were injured, two of them seriously, after
being shot with hunting rifles fitted with lead pellets during rioting
last night in the suburb of Grigny, south of Paris, police said.

"Hunting rifles fitted with lead pellets…"

Uh…there’s a name for those.  They’re called BULLETS.

France is an absolute mess. I read an article today where a French government spokesperson said that “things are improving” because “only 1200 cars were burned today” versus “1400 cars burned yesterday”

    Sheesh!

I don’t know, I used to shoot all sorts of things out of a BB gun. One time I shot out a small rock, then a smll piece of paper and best of all a 1 inch piece of uncooked spaghetti. Good Times!

An uncooked piece of spaghetti? Awesome.

From a Pastafarian doctrine, does that mean you were firing some sort of holy weapon? Sort of a Speargun of the Apocalypse?

I hope so, because that would be cool.

Doesn’t a bullet have gunpowder inside? Would that be the distinction? I dunno. I’m not a Guns & Ammo chick.

The gunpowder is contained in the shell casing. Its ignition is what sets the bullet hurtling out of the gun.

Pastafarian. I like like. If you live in the slums of Pastafarian society..does that mean you live in the Spaghetto? I hope so, because that would be cool.

In Pastafarian society, can you slurp the noodle?
Maybe when you are little and you have to make that silly macaroni necklace in school, it’s just the Pastafarians feeble early attempt at mind control. “Color the necklace….worship the necklace….aw crud, the string broke again!”

    Pastafarian necklace, rosary, same thing.
