Broadband’s popularity explosion is due in part to its blazing speed

In part?  Is there another factor I’m missing?

But seriously, what do you expect from an article titled Dial-Up Reborn that discusses compression techniques that dial-up ISPs have been using to speed up page loads since…oh…2003, and that offers no facts or figures about dial-up’s supposed rebirth?

I think I caught that story. It was right after “TV’s popularity over radio due in part to having moving pictures.” Breaking stuff here.

Seriously, dial up has been dying a slow death for years. The people making money on it are the ones who are rolling up all the small regional dial up companies and then using the efficiencies to offer up $9.99/mo access.
