Help Hurricane Katrina Victims

September 1, 2005

For those readers who happen to be in Austin, TX, or surrounding areas:

Rather than donating cash, we are planning a more direct relief for victims of Hurricane Katrina.  Friday afternoon, trucks loaded with supplies will depart Austin and head to Baton Rouge to assist in relief efforts.  We have Red Cross approval, three donated U-Haul trucks, and tons of supplies, but we need more.

Anything you can donate from the following list would be helpful.  In addition, we need gas cans, boxes, bungie cords, and ratchet straps.  Such "logistical" items will be returned to their original owners.

Please bring any donations to GSD&M Advertising (828 West 6th Street – just east of Lamar Blvd.) until 6:00 PM today or between 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM tomorrow (Friday).  Just ask for me (Matt McDougall) or Todd Van Horne at the front desk and we’ll be down to help unload your supplies.
