The Decker Dolphin

August 3, 2005

Last week, Jamie was looking at exactly zero teaching prospects, was considering taking a nanny position instead as something of a stopgap.

What a difference a week makes.

This week, she got not one, but two job offers, and tomorrow she starts new teacher orientation with Manor ISD.  Come August 15th, she’ll be a Life Skills teacher (special ed.) at Decker Elementary School.

She’ll be a Decker Dolphin (better than a duck, donkey, dragonfly, duckbilled platypus, or any other "D" named animals…then again, maybe duckbilled platypus would have been better…).

Please join me in congratulating the wife on her new position.

Congratulations, Jamie. How wonderful to have a choice, too.

Considering the thing you had for dolphins when you were young, it’s probably better than a duckbilled platypus.

Congratulations Jamie, it must feel good to start teaching and using all the study and experiences that you have been preparing for.

Are the Decker Dolphins smarter than humans, too?
