After a trying, stressful, and at times heart-wrenching year, we finally closed on the sale of our house yesterday.  There is no more cleaning to be done.  No more scrambling to get garage doors replaced, roofs redone, walls painted…all that’s left is to pack up.  In a month, we should be moving into our new home.

And…since nothing ever happens on its own around here, yesterday also marked the sale of the Defender.  That’s right, the D-90, the Short Bus, has been sold.  I’ll probably be putting together some tribute for it once it goes off to its new home in San Francisco.

Wow truly a landmark day wouldn’t you say? They say life’s checkpoints are always concrete and conspicuous but this sure seems like an exception.

I suppose you meant to type “aren’t”?

For some reason, this type of thing has a way of happening. In May 2002, I proposed to Jamie, put an offer down on a house, and started working at GSD&M all in a 24-hour span.
