Blame It On The…

March 11, 2005

To date, 2005 has been a very wet year here in central Texas.  We have had rain on an almost constant basis since January.  This coming weekend is the first in the last eight that will see sunshine.

It has been miserable.  Humidity.  Depressing, dreary skies.  Perpetually wet grass.  Mud.  Oh yes, the dogs do love the mud.  And the rain itself – only two or three times we been treated to real rain, the kind of rain that hammers on rooftops and makes creeks rise.  The kind of rain that I like.  No, we didn’t get that kind of rain.  We got the misty, pissy kind of rain.

Around the workplace, the phrase, "I didn’t sign on for Portland" became something of a cliche.

That said, I think that the following story, contrasted with the meteorological situation that Texas has endured of late, pretty much defines irony.
