Wednesday List

July 21, 2004

No theme or particular topic, just a timely list.

1) Schwab ousted CEO Pottruck, and rumors abound that the company’s gonna be sold. Perhaps its time to move accounts?

2) Mountain biking in the dark is hard. Well, it’s not hard, but seeing is. And when your on a singletrack, seeing can be important.

3) Rumors are flying that Dreamworks has acquired the rights to a certain treasured childhood cartoon, and that Robert Zemekis is attached to direct. That’s right, Transformers!

4) Bankrate.com has a list of ten things you can change about your driving to improve your gas mileage. One of them: avoid rush hour traffic. Yeah, really? Because people just…seek it out. Strangely, they neglect to mention obvious ones such as not driving, driving only downhill, and my favorite, drafting.

5) The Tour de France is possibly some of the most addictive TV ever. And Lance is a friggin’ monster.

6) TCBY is bizarrely crowded with teenagers at 9:30 PM. As I told Jamie, I think its because the malls are closed.

7) Can anybody tell my why Buick still exists? What purpose does it serve GM? I mean, is there just not enough to choose from between Chevy, GMC, Pontiac, Saturn, and Cadillac. Hell, throw in Saab for that matter. Buick is an anchor.

8) How about a coordinated terrorist attack that would take out the headquarters of ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox News, CNN, etc? No one to report the story, and report it again, and again, and again. Did I mention I’ve grown weary of news? And the idea of Jon Stewart as the most accomplished remaining journalist strikes me as hilarious.

9) Someone’s planning to remake The Ten Commandments. To cash in on the success of The Passion. I’m pulling for The Rock to be cast as Moses. (Or wouldn’t The Rock be better cast as Peter, the rock upon which Jesus built his church? Get it? Rock. Ha!).

10) And really, what’s wrong with the original Manchurian Candidate? And is Denzel Washington playing the same character he did in Courage Under Fire?

So you comment here, but not in the posts where I specifically ask for comments?

    I see how it is.
