In case you are wondering, flustration is the state of being both flustered and frustrated. I know it is not a real word, but I like it, and this is my blog, so there.

This week has been a tough one for writing. Chapter XI was going swimmingly until Monday night. Every section was falling into place, and then came the final section.

Usually, my writing hangups come from trying to figure out what to say, not how to say it. In the case of this final section, I know exactly what needs to be told, said, and whatnot, to properly advance the story into Chapter XII. The problem is how.

Monday, it just did not come. For three hours I stared at blank sheets of paper, wrote a sentence or two, and tore them out in frustration (flustration, rather). I must have ripped out twenty pages. Emergency measures were required. To break out of this little box, I needed by brain back.

So yesterday I stayed away from writing all day. I rode my bike. I took the dogs to training. Sam and I went to Sonic. I went to bed early.

I already feel much better than I did on Monday, or yesterday for that matter. Now if it can only translate to my writing…
