The Fasti

June 7, 2004

Well, the massive document is at last completed. Except for the Biographical Index, that is, but I for one am starting to question its particular usefulness to my cause. Far more important is seeing things by years, and as they progress.

Even the casual viewer, looking at the names, should be able to see obvious allegiances and connections between families leaping out at them.

Again, a warning to any reading along. This document contains a list of all posts of any sort of power within the Roman state from 222 until 201 B.C., from the consulship to the lowliest prefectship. It contains the conferment of priesthoods. It lists, year by year, the deaths of prominent citizens. If you do not want to spoil yourself, I recommend not reading too carefully.
